Rohan's Roost

Rohan is a derivative of the Gaelic Rowan and means "little red one." It is also the Norse word for the Rowan tree, which is known for its red leaves and berries. When Cecilie was pregnant with Rohan she was convinced she was having a girl and did not consider any boy names. A few days before he was born she was browsing though a baby name book and came across Rohan, which meant red. She decided that in the unlikely event the baby was both a boy and a red-head that Rohan would be his name.

Sacrament

Today was a pretty exciting day for Mike and me. Rohan passed the sacrament for the first time. He was very nervous ahead of time and worried that he would make a mistake, but he did a really good job and was very professional and serious about it. He passed to everyone sitting on the stand and we knew he would be passing down the side so we sat on the edge (usually we are in the middle) so he could pass to us. Solveig was yelling out "Rohan!" and when he got to our pew Torben asked him why he wasn't sitting with us. After the Sacrament he sat on the stand as the messenger boy. We were pretty thrilled to see him doing all of this and it's just amazing to think he is 12. I'm looking forward to the next 12 years.
