It's nice to be loved

Rohan wrote:
I like watching my dad work on the bathroom because it is cool and it makes me feel like I have a noble, strong dad. It makes me feel sicure and safe to be around my dad. My dad is a good nice, strong dad. I just wanted to say that my dad is great.

Precocious Poet?

Rohan wrote this poem in school and I thought it was pretty good.

The Blues

When I get sent to my room
And I was about to win a video game
I feel sad
That's the blues.

When I get a low grade
And my goal isn't accomplished
And I get teased
I feel sad
That's the blues.

When my family is sick
And I am alone
My sister has pink eye
And my mom and dad get headaches
And my other sister has a fever
That's the blues.

A Day of Mourning

For Christmas this year, I was the lucky recipient of a Nintendo Game Cube. As you can well imagine, Rohan was extremely excited about this. When I opened the Game Cube, Rohan literally jumped up and down in exuberance and joy. During the holidays, we have basically allowed Rohan to play to his hearts content. That all comes to end today as school is back in session. Time on the Game Cube will now be rationed out at the whim of his parents.
