Solveig's Sanctuary

Solveig is derived from the Old Norse elements sól "sun" and veig "strength". Solveig is a central character in the play Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen and she sings the famous "Solveig's Song." Cecilie had been thinking about the name Solveig when Mike approached her with the same name. Mike had listened to Ibsen's "Solveig's Song" on the train ride home and felt that this would be the perfect Norwegian name if we had a girl.

Crimes Against Humanity

You should need a license to cut hair - oh wait, you do. However, Cecilie continues to practice her art, "practice" being the operative word here. Cecilie has many talents, but she refuses to throw in the towel on haircutting. Fortunately, Solveig is oblivious to it all.
