Torben's Tree House

Torben is the Danish derivative of the Norwegian Torbjörn and means “Tor’s (Thor) bear.” Tor is the god of thunder in Norse mythology. When we named Torben we wanted a Norwegian name, but also wanted something pronounceable by English speakers. We liked Torbjörn but decided that the Danish derivative would be easier to pronounce so we went with Torben.

An Incredibly Cute Kid

Torben is an incredibly cute kid. Everyday we are amazed at how wonderful he is. He is at that age where everything he does is so delightful. Lately he has become obsessed with the word poop and manages to work it into most every sentence he says. "I don't want to eat this food - its poopy." In the morning if you say, "Torben go get dressed," he respond, "I don't want my poopy pants, your a smelly poopy but mom." It is so great to be three and be able to use the word poop in such clever and fun ways.
