Torben's Tree House

Torben is the Danish derivative of the Norwegian Torbjörn and means “Tor’s (Thor) bear.” Tor is the god of thunder in Norse mythology. When we named Torben we wanted a Norwegian name, but also wanted something pronounceable by English speakers. We liked Torbjörn but decided that the Danish derivative would be easier to pronounce so we went with Torben.

Out of the mouths of babes

The other day Torben was mad about something and he was walking around kicking his foot at the ground and muttering to himself, "I am NOT like a star shining brightly and Jesus don't want me for a sunbeam." I thought that was pretty funny.
